So, our sixth sense (pun intended) tells us that you have a business idea and have decided to build a mobile application but you are not sure where to start so that you are setting it up for success. As mobile apps continue to grow in popularity due to their convenience to the users, they allow businesses to have a stronger online presence. Mobile apps can help businesses to offer great customer experience, improve customer service, increase sales and profits, and better engage with their customers.

This is not even a tip for your app. We encourage you to validate your business idea with your friends and family and make sure you are offering something valuable. People are more likely to download and use your app if it provides them with something they want or need. Whether it's a useful tool, entertaining content, or something else, make sure your app has a purpose.

So, once you have defined the purpose of your application you need to know how to start on the right foot. Here are some tips:

Make sure your app is well-designed and user-friendly. Investing in great product design is pre-cursor to the success of your app. No one wants to use a mobile app that is difficult to navigate or isn't visually appealing. Good user experience is critical for the success . If people can't figure out how to use your app, they are likely to delete it. Keep the design and user interface simple so people will be able to navigate your app without difficulty. This is easier said than done and hence finding a good product designer is very important.

Start with a prototype before development begins. This will help you to work out any kinks in your design and make sure that your app is user-friendly. Not only this, but prototype can also be taken to the potential users for feedback without investing a ton of money on development. It also will give you more clarity on what your product will feel like and what you can improve. With modern tools like Figma, we can build interactive prototypes that look like a real app without the backend.

Promote your app. This is a given in today’s world of competition. Even before the app is ready get people talking about your idea and make sure that it's easy for people to find and download. You can have the best product in the world, but if no one knows about it, it's not going to do very well. There are a number of ways you can promote your app - Create a website for it: This is a great way to give potential users more information about your app and what it does. If your app is for individual users you need to have an active social media presence and good SEO.

Keep it up to date with the latest features and ensure that it's compatible with the latest operating systems. Regular updates will keep people coming back to your app and using it on a regular basis. Consider adding features that make your app stand out from the crowd. These could include social sharing capabilities, in-app purchases, or push notifications. Ironing out those bugs is also very important to keep your users engaged.

Get feedback and listen to it. Listen to what users have to say about your app and make changes accordingly. If people are unhappy with something, chances are others are as well. Address these issues to keep people happy and using your app. See what your competition is doing and consider ways you can improve upon their ideas.
